If you wish to record your podcast from your side, there are some simple steps you should consider:
- We highly recommend using an external microphone for recording in order to get a maximum sound quality. Easy and Free Windows/Mac software like Audacity / Reaper.. would do.
- Choose a quiet location if possible. We understand that complete silence isn't always possible, but the quieter the location, the better the outcome and the sound.
- Add a mono track on your software to record on. Try not to use stereo tracks for recording your voice.
- Make sure the microphone level is not clipping.
Before recording your episode make sure to:
- Record a one time INTRO and OUTRO so we can use it in all of the episodes. You can export it as a separate audio file.
- Make sure to keep 3 to 4 seconds between different subjects/points.
- You can repeat any phrase or sentence but make sure you say CUT before repeating.
- We will edit everything in the episode, please send us notes if you have any but DON’T edit any part of your recording.
- Finish your episode and export audio at least 4 seconds before and after the whole recording, in the following format and settings:
- File type : WAV
- Sample rate: 44.1 Hz or 44.100 kHz
- Bit Rate : 24bit
- Please name the wav file as follows: podcast name-episode name-episode number, example: Creative Scene-Immigrating Creativity-Ep30
We support Mp3 files and the maximum length of the file should not exceed 3 hours per episode.
Podeo storage format:
- Codec: Mp3
- Channels: Stereo
- Sampling rate: 44.1KHz
